New folks on board
Diana Taylor, president
Our new TSA of Ohio president as of February 2009 was born and raised in Maryland, and moved to Ohio in August of 1988. She married in 1992, and had her only child, a daughter, in 1997. Victoria was diagnosed with TS at about age 8 in 2006. Diana has worked for Nationwide Insurance since 1980, except for a few years while Victoria was young. Diana has been married to Michael for 17 years. He is the director for Youth Development at Central Ohio Youth for Christ. The Taylors belong to Xenos Christian Fellowship. Diana's hobbies are quilting, bike riding, walking, reading, and hanging with the family.
Joleah Dean, secretary
The TSA of Ohio’s new secretary is Joleah Dean. After working as an administrative assistant for 10 years, she has decided to leave the workforce and attend to her family’s needs full-time. She lives in the Reynoldsburg (Columbus) area with her husband and two daughters ages 4 and 6. Her 6-year-old daughter was recently diagnosed with TS and ADHD. She loves art, science and singing.
Kyle Rose
Kyle Rose, who joined our board in November 2007, has worked in special education since 1989. He has worked in the classroom with various age groups. He is currently a school administrator in a facility for children with Developmental Disabilities and Emotional Disturbance. Kyle and his family live in the Cleveland area. He and his wife have three children. His son, Charlie, has been diagnosed with TS and ADHD. Charlie is an avid reader and wants to develop his own comic.
Bruce Holtgren
Bruce Holtgren has had Tourette's his whole life, but didn't realize it until he was 40. Since then, he has been busy reading and learning all he can about it. He has been active in support groups in the Cincinnati area, including coordinating two such groups for adults with TS. He joined the TSA of Ohio board in February 2007. Bruce is a copy editor at The Cincinnati Enquirer. His goal concerning Tourette's is to help the world at large better understand it. Bruce is our newsletter and website editor and part-time writer and photographer. He lives in Cincinnati with his wife of 11 years, Kathy Schwartz, and their two cats.
Dorene Shoff

Dorene Shoff has also been active in TSA of Ohio for many years. She joined the Board of Directors in February 2007 and is our Volunteer Coordinator. Dorene is the Summit County Support Group Leader for the Greater Akron area and has been holding this position for many years. She has helped numerous individuals and families in her area deal with this disease, as well as help many other Suupport Group Leaders get started in their areas. Along with her son who has TS, she is promoting public awareness for TS throughout the country. She and her son live in Copley, Ohio
Monica Grabel

Monica is not a board member of the TSA of Ohio ... she's possibly more important than any of those people! She's our administrative coordinator, which means she's usually everyone's first, main contact when they e-mail or call the organization for help or information. Monica, who joined us as our only paid staff member in the fall of 2007, lives in suburban Cincinnati with her husband, Kevin, daughter Megan, and son Mike (who has TS and OCD). She graduated from Northern Kentucky University with B.S. in Sociology. Her background is in business management, sales and marketing, and real estate. She loves to read and travel. She currently homeschools her son Mike, who is in high school, due to the severity of his tics. She is an advocate for helping to spread the word on TS so that others might have a better understanding of the disorder.
